Cawfee anyone! Well good cawfee! The challenge is real in NYC.

The hunt for the great flat white in Manhattan is certainly not for the light hearted. American coffee by Australian standards is weak, bitter and milky. Looking for a great tasting espresso or god forbid "Flat white" is rare and far. With all the glitz and glamour and NYC snobbery, its quite a fiasco finding that great cup of coffee.

Let's start with the obvious.... Starbucks. While many abound, the coffee is average. However if you are desperate, then this is as low as I would go. Great free wifi too.

Bluestone lane own a number of coffee shops and cafes. The coffee shops are basically takeaway with the cafes serving up awesome smashed avo and baked beans.  


Great coffee often served by Australian Baristas. They know what a flat white is and how to sit outside with a blanket! Sit and listen for the Aussie staff calling out names to be seated and none of the Americans understanding our accent! "Josh" is apparently not "Jarsh"

A lovely industrial style coffee takeaway shop. Standing only. They don't do a great flat white but they try very hard. At least they know a single origin coffee!
