The Tenement Museum is a must see treasure. Relatively unknown to Australian traveller, this is fabulous small time capsule with an amazing history. Click Here to buy tickets.
“Step back in time and discover the families who lived at 97 Orchard Road.”

There are a number of tours depending on your interests. We did the Sweatshop tour and Irish outsiders, both were excellent.

Booking tickets online guaranteed us a spot on these very popular small group tours. Turning up and seeing what is available is also an option. 103 Orchard Road is the main shop and meeting point for all the tours. Arrive prior to your allocated time at the excellent souvenir shop, browse for awhile, grab a locker downstairs, and read a few books.

Your tour guide, usually a very well spoken person will call your tour group by holding up the tour you have booked on a placard. Walking around to 97 Orchard Road is where you enter this amazing time capsule.

Only basically restored restored, and apartments furnished time appropriately, everything is as it was found. Paint peeling, lights dimmed, you are taken up the original wooden staircase to one apartment where you learn about a family and their daily life.
